If you want to know that how to upload website to the server using Filezilla. You are on the right platform. I am going to tell you step by step starting from downloading setup of Filezilla to uploading the complete website.
Step 1: Go to http://filezilla-project.org/download.php as shown in the picture below
Here you'll find various options like which operating system you are using like Windows, mac or Linux. Pick the option accordingly which suites your configuration. Now just open your downloads folder or where you placed your setup of Filezilla and click on the file to run. Once installed it is ready to use.
Step 2: Fill the Information
Once it is opened now you need to fill the information in the given options below-
Host: Here you need to enter sever IP or URL (Domain Name) of your website
Username: You'll get username from your hosting panel, when you'll create ftp for your site in the panel.
Password: Password need to be created while you are creating ftp in your hosting panel.
Port: Keep blank
Click on quick connect.
Your Filezilla has been connected with server now and ready to upload your website files to the server.
Step 3: Upload Files from Local to Server
Now you'll see two section in the Filezilla named as 1) Local Site (in the left hand side) 2) Remote Site (in the right hand side) as given in picture below
Now you can upload your local web files to the server by the following way
1: Drag and Drop: You can add your local files to the server by drag and dropping to the server side of the Filezilla (Mostly Files to be dropped in the httpdocs folder)
2: Right click>Upload by selecting httpdocs folder of server side
It will process for some time according to size of your files to be uploaded to the server. Once it is done check your URL in the browser. See if it is running correctly.
